SKILLSDescription:
Get introduced to Stand Up Paddling and advance your paddling skills with this four hour lake clinic. It will show you how to put the FUNction into the sport! You will learn the basic paddling strokes and begin to build a solid safe foundation for all your SUP adventures. It will also get you loosening up your feet and turning your paddling up a notch. You will be introduced to pivot turns, bracing, foot work, edging and paddling in dynamic conditions. Goal: Learn new techniques to execute an efficient forward stroke, propelling your board forward in a straight line with ease. Also learn the paddle strokes to turn around and maneuver your board. Understand how to manage yourself and your equipment safely. Learn to engage edges, balance using braces, utilize footwork, and dial in the pivot turn. Results: By the end of this clinic, participants can expect to have developed new paddle strokes and the safety skills manage themselves on flat-water. Participants will develop confidence and efficiency in their forward stroke and paddling straight. Also they will be able to turn and maneuver their board freely. DatesPrince George
